A top military adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has hailed the resistance front in the region, saying “escape” is the ultimate fate of US occupation forces in Syria and Iraq, as it was the case in Afghanistan.
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said, “The resistance of the people and governments of Iraq and Syria caused the defeat of Daesh. these American and Zionist mercenaries, [and] the resistance of the Afghan people caused the defeat of the US in Afghanistan and their humiliating escape. It caused the failure of the US in the plans to overthrow the Syrian government.”
Rahim Safavi went on to say that what has caused the reduction of US forces in Iraq and Syria are the popular resistance groups in these two countries, adding that the ultimate fate of American troops is to flee Iraq and Syria just as they fled Afghanistan.....more here
