MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) - Lawmakers of the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) voted to expel Taiwan as a permanent observer in the organization and extended invitation to China to take up the role, the parliament has said.

"The plenum of the Central American Parliament approved by a majority of the votes the inclusion of the People's Republic of China in PARLACEN as an observer state at the request of the Nicaraguan parliamentary faction," PARLACEN wrote on social media on Monday.....more below
