Moscow unveils details of new gas pipeline to China
Gazprom is finalizing construction details of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline project with its Chinese and Mongolian partners, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. He held talks there with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.
According to the Russian president, Moscow is ready to develop cooperation with Beijing and Ulaanbaatar in the energy sector, including the possibility of increasing cross-border electricity supplies to the two countries.
“For this year, we predict 20% growth of energy transfers from Russia to your countries, dear friends, of up to 5.2 billion kilowatts,” Putin said.
Designed to carry natural gas to China via Mongolia, the Soyuz Vostok pipeline is part of the larger Power of Siberia 2 pipeline. It will be able to bring up to 50 billion cubic meters of gas to China annually, according to Gazprom.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced the execution of the 51st wave of Operation True Promise 4, launching missile strikes against US military installations across the region in retaliation for ongoing American-Israeli aggression against the country.
The IRGC announced the latest wave was carried out using a combination of liquid-fuel and solid-fuel missiles against US terrorist army forces at the Al Kharj Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
According to the IRGC statement, Al Kharj base served as the "origin of aggressions against the Islamic homeland," functioning as the staging ground for US F-35 and F-16 fighter jets involved in attacks on Iran.
The base also houses fuel supply aircraft and serves as the main hub for American AWACS surveillance planes.

Iran’s Army has carried out a massive drone strike on the headquarters of the Israeli occupation forces in the Beersheba area, in response to the ongoing US-Israeli terrorist strikes against Iran.
In a statement, the Iranian Army announced that its drones heavily attacked the headquarters of Israeli regime in Beersheba on Friday morning.
It added that since Friday morning, the Iranian Army has been targeting the headquarters of the Israeli regime's defense forces in the occupied territories in Beersheba using destructive drones launched from various parts of the country.
“Beersheba is the site of strategic military installations and infrastructures of the Zionist regime's army, including bases associated with ground and air forces,” the statement said.
